Bela Fleck concerto gets name, album release

Fifteen-time Grammy Award-winning banjoist Bela Fleck is featured as composer and performer on The Impostor, to be released Aug. 13 by Deutsche Grammophon/Mercury Classics. 

Fleck (right) added “composer” to his resume with the 2011 banjo concerto. His debut recording with the label features the title concerto and a work for banjo and string quartet.

The South Carolina Philharmonic celebrates its 50th season in 2013/2014 and is pleased to present Fleck with the orchestra in The Impostor – Concerto for Banjo and Orchestra on Saturday, May 3, 2014.
