Family Medicine Centers of S.C. to sponsor concert

The South Carolina Philharmonic is announcing Family Medicine Centers of S.C. as grand sponsor of “Mostly Mozart” at the Koger Center Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.

This is the second SCP concert sponsored by Family Medicine Centers of S.C., who also were main sponsors of “Premieres & Variations” on Nov. 13, 2010.

With “Mostly Mozart,” SCP Music Director Morihiko Nakahara offers a program of Faure and three Mozart works. Accomplished SCP Principal Clarinet Doug Graham showcases his talent in the Mozart Clarinet Concerto, and up-and-coming young pianists Vanessa Meiling Haynes and Bolton Ellenberg, second- and third-prize winners of the 2011 Arthur Fraser International Concerto Competition – held annually during the Southeastern Piano Festival at USC – perform the first movement of the Mozart Concerto No. 10 for Two Pianos. The evening closes with Mozart’s Symphony No. 41, “Jupiter.”

Graham is sponsored by Liz & Hoyt Wheeler. Haynes and Ellenberg are sponsored by PHT Services, Ltd.
