Bring the orchestra to your students...
Carnival of the Animals is a humorous musical suite by the French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. Composed in 1886, it is structured in fourteen movements, each representing different animals or scenes. The instrumentation for Carnival of the Animals includes: 2 pianos, strings, flute/piccolo, clarinet, glockenspiel and xylophone. This combination of instruments creates a diverse range of sounds and textures, bringing each animal character to life through music. A narrator can read the original script or one of the newer children’s books written based on this timeless classic.
*NiA Productions partners with the SC Phil in a dynamic play inspired by the music of Carnival. The Gift is a theatrical piece that accompanies Camille St. Saens Carnival of the Animals. Perfect companions, The Gift uses a little bit of science, dance, theatre, music, audience participation and a whole lot of fun! Booking fee includes one technical rehearsal, one rehearsal with orchestra, and play licensing.
