South Carolina Philharmonic Musicians: Fostering Musical Excellence

SC Phil musicians are experts in their field, passionate about encouraging and facilitating the musical growth of young music students, as well as supporting teachers. Our musicians can serve in various capacities to enhance the musical experience and education of students:

  • Instrumental Coaches: Providing one-on-one or small group coaching to help students improve their technical skills and musicality on their respective instruments.
  • Masterclass and Sectional Rehearsal Leaders: Offering specialized masterclasses and sectional rehearsals to address specific aspects of performance and ensemble playing, tailored to the needs of the students.
  • Performance/Lecture Leaders: Conducting sessions on performance practices, music history, rehearsal or practice skills, and preparing for auditions. These sessions often include live demonstrations by musicians to provide a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of music performance and education.
  • Alexander Technique: Teaching students the Alexander Technique to improve posture, reduce tension, and enhance overall performance skills.
  • Instrument Maintenance/Choosing a Step-Up Instrument and/or Bow: Providing guidance on maintaining instruments and helping students and parents make informed decisions when choosing step-up instruments or bows.
  • Program Recruitment: Let us help you recruit for your instrumental music program.  Our string, wind, brass and percussion ensembles will entertain, inform and excite your rising students!

By engaging with SC Phil musicians, students and teachers can benefit from their professional expertise, experience, and dedication to nurturing the next generation of musicians.
