'Star Wars Musiclipse' a complete sellout

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The South Carolina Philharmonic’s Star Wars Musiclipse matinee concert on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017 – a signature event of Total Eclipse Weekend in Columbia – is completely sold out.

The family-friendly Star Wars Musiclipse is to be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Koger Center for the Arts, the day before the Aug. 21 total eclipse of the sun that Columbia – the largest metropolitan area experiencing “totality” on the U.S. East Coast – is uniquely situated to see.

The concert program will draw from the entire saga of movies beginning with The Phantom Menace, through the iconic music of the original trilogy, and up to 2015’s The Force Awakens. Patrons attending Star Wars Musiclipse are encouraged to join the musicians in wearing Star Wars related costumes. Special effects are being finalized. Eclipse viewing glasses will be handed out to patrons courtesy of the City of Columbia.
