“Night Owl Ride” gives cyclists aged 12 and up the opportunity to see how long they can endure throughout the night while helping local charities. Riders may enjoy the ride for a few hours or see how long they can last through this test of endurance. Those riders between ages 12 and 17 may ride from 8 p.m to 10 p.m. and must be accompanied by a parent. Riders ages 18 and up may participate in the entire ride if they wish.
The entry fee for riders who register by Aug. 27th is $40 and $50 for those who register after. The ride begins at 300 Senate at 8 p.m. and goes throughout the night, ending at 8 a.m, with an award ceremony and breakfast for riders. To register, visit niteowlride.org or call 803.727.9662.
There are opportunities for sponsorships, vendors, rest-tent sponsors and much more. If you are interested in participating, please visit niteowlride.org.
“Nite Owl Ride” starts at 300 Senate and follows the route across the Gervais Street Bridge. Pre-ride festivities, which are open to the public, start at 6 p.m. and feature a 5k fun run/walk from 7-8 p.m. (registration forms available here), food provided by Dupre Catering & Events, appearances by Cocky and Zig the Pig, family-friendly festivities including vendors and fun for the entire family, music by Heart & Soul and the opportunity to see the riders off at 8 p.m. and cheer them on as they ride.
After Hours festivities at 300 Senate include music, a cash bar and food served as long as the crowd is there.
